From April 12th to September 22nd 2014, the Centre Pompidou invites Olivier Vadrot to design an exhibition for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years. “Totem and Tattoo” enters the Galerie des enfants: a new adventure for the artist, for the place and for young audiences. This exhibition teases the conventions of exhibition and invites selected works in the collection of the Centre Pompidou to go down a few floors and be displayed in a different light. This generous offer places major works selected by Olivier Vadrot at eye level for children.
This new proximity creates an easier encounter with the works, a more intense intimacy with them. The artist designed a very accessible principle of exposure in the form of a discovery path for children: “I am neither critic nor art historian and I am unable to make a collective exhibition with a wise aesthetic speech.” A playful way to introduce children to the world of modern art.
For your convenience, the Centre Pompidou is located at a mere 12-minute metro ride from Hotel Aida Marais.
